The poker run route was a scenic ride through Sumter and Lake counties. The stops were the Eagles in Okahumpka, the Dam Pub in Lake Panasoffkee, the IR-RU in Inverness, the VFW in Bayhill, and then back to the American Legion in Bushnell. Beck died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday when his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle crossed the center line on Immokalee Road and struck a pickup truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash occurred just north of Rabbit Run Road, west of Everglades Boulevard in northeastern Collier County.

Somerset County prosecutors say Smith was traveling faster than 100 mph on eastbound Route 78 in Bedminster in June when he moved to the center lane and struck another motorcycle driven by 56-year-old Paul Shelly of Delta, Pa.

Shelly's passenger, 45-year-old Nicole Widener of Stewartsville, Pa. was thrown into the roadway, where she was run over and killed by a car. Shelly sustained severe leg injuries, while Smith had minor injuries.
