Interview with Ms. Bikeweek.com - Daytona

We're always watching the Daytona Bikeweek sites when deciding what to cover and what not to cover. Like everyone, hopefully, we all have real jobs so extra time is tough. The past few weeks we've been following the stories on Ms.
Bikeweek.com and watching their website, Bikeweek.com. Our first stop was to track her and her promotional team down and see what this was all about. As far as we know, she is the first Ms. Bikeweek.com and we wanted to bring you something new for a change. Not the same old stuff from years past; that's another story.
We found Ms. Bikeweek.com and the team in South Daytona on US 1 so we stopped to introduce ourselves.
When we handed Stacey a card and told her we were from Biker Cove, asking for an interview, she was glad to accommodate us. Quickly impressed with her, we realized she was nothing like we would have expected. Thinking of the normal stereotype a biker would attach to the title, 'gorgeous, most likely dingy, and probably blond', we quickly realized only the first applied.
It turns out Stacey not only fits the 'gorgeous' profile, but is a student, a mother of two, and a consultant specializing in wellness and nutrition. Stacey explained that while attending college, she needed an elective and chose the topic. She soon realized it was her calling, and that she needed to make some changes in her life. Through trial, error, and the intelligence to know the difference, Stacey became what she is today. A certified Wellness and Nutrition consultant through the AFPA. Stacey now has her own consulting business and website: www.motherearthholism.com where she promotes a balanced well being for optimal health. We found her to be much more than just a 'bombshell of a brunette.'
Stacey's promotional team was great. A high speed group of photographers, techie's and marketers, they were very candid and pleasant to speak with. We thank Valerie, Austin, Morgan, Kyle and the rest of the team. They all had some great ideas to express and each of them were obviously talented. This is the first year for Ms. Bikeweek.com and they worked hard to find just the right person. Their expertise reveals itself in choosing Stacey. They further explained that they are in touch with Bikeweek events in other areas and are hoping to make this a contest with a much wider spectrum.
We discussed where Stacey would crown the 2011 Ms. Bikeweek.com and it sounds like Daytona Bikeweek was the consensus. Hopefully that will be their decision so we can be there to cover it. Bringing you the next Ms. Bikeweek would be an honor so we'll see.
Stacey may be appearing at the Leesburg Bikerfest in April. If she is, we'll let you know where and when. As we get to know her promotional team better, we'll be able to bring you more up to date information.
It's great to see the younger generation taking the throttle in their hand and continuing the things us older bikers have started. After speaking with them, it was good to know that this part of our lifestyle is in good hands. We thank Bikeweek.com for their time and wish Stacey success in her consulting business. By the looks of me in the photo with her, I could probably use a little consulting myself!
Ride and return home safe - always. LRB - Tim
